Church Covenant/files/Pictures for Pages/handstogether2.jpg

Having, as we trust, been brought by divine grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to give up ourselves to Him, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious aid, solemnly and joyfully hold to our covenant with each other.

  • We promise to make His Word the rule of our faith and practice.
  • We promise to adhere to the Christian & Missionary Alliance Statement of Faith.
  • We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
  • We will walk together in brotherly love as a church body; exercise an affectionate care and watchfulness over each other and faithfully admonish and entreat one another as the occasion may require, in order that we may turn away from sin and uncleanness of thought and action and lead a life that trusts and obeys Jesus Christ.
  • We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, nor neglect to pray for ourselves and others.
  • We will work together for the continuance of a faithful God-exalting, gospel-centered ministry in this church, as we sustain its corporate worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines.
  • We will respect and honor them which have rule over us, and who speak to us the Word of God.
  • We will humbly submit to the church elders who provide shepherding care in our walk with Christ.
  • We will follow the guidelines from Peacemaker ministries if, for any reason, we have a conflict with church leadership.
  • We will respectfully listen and humbly accept corrective discipline from church leadership.
  • We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry of the church, expenses, relief to those in need of care, and to the spread of the Gospel to all nations.
  • We will rejoice at each other’s happiness and thank God for the evidence of His grace in each other’s lives.  Yet, we will also with tenderness and sympathy bear each other’s burdens and sorrows.
  • We will endeavor to lead our children or others committed to our care to a personal faith in Jesus Christ and be faithful in family and personal devotions so that our children can embrace a saving relationship with Jesus Christ of their own.
  • We will seek, by divine aid, to live carefully in the world, denying ungodliness and worldly lust, and remembering that, as we have been voluntarily buried by baptism and raised again from the symbolic grace, so there is on us the call to be holy in light of the new life that we have been given.
  • We will, when we move from this place, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all, as we endeavor to live out this covenant as a church family through the gracious enabling of God, to whom be the glory forever and ever.
